Then I read through my lovely big Foundry picture book (Dallimore and friends' advanced painting guide) and saw a whole army of orcs by Paul Baker with a Moss (Foundry paint triad 29) painted skin and it got me thinking. Again.
|Orcs by the very talented Paul Baker|
So, one of my favourite Foundry shades (Moss 29), with a yellowish, sallow tinge, but still "greenskin". I had to try it, and this is what I came up with:
I enjoyed painting him hugely - the first orc I've painted in years, and certainly the first since I really got into painting in a more oldhammery style.
What do you think? Stick with that colour for orc skin? I've also got some of Kev's lesser goblins that are now on sale through Alternative Armies (or will be when they finish redoing their website) that I've done in a reddish-brown to match my Crooked Claw gobbos. I'll show them off next time.
