Before the incident with the fungus harvester, Gregor had been regularly mocked and knocked around because of his diminutive stature. Since they rebuilt him (they had the technology!), very few dare to mess with the eight foot of servo-enhanced plasteel pit fighter and bodyguard he has become - the only thing that is short about him now is his temper...
Not a Metal Magic figure this time, Gregor comes from the sadly defunct Alpha Forge range for Star Mogul. He came free with an order for I forget what, years ago and has sat in his little stapled bag ever since. Now is his time to shine!
I went for yellow and black on his fist in an homage to the classic terminator fist hazard stripes, and I reckoned that a wealthy owner/employer might treat his bodywork like a sportscar - carefully cleaned and polished on a regular basis. A sign of wealth and taste. Oh, and he really is big:
The project continues apace!

Great, I'm liking all these miscellaneous space people. Much more interesting than armies from the codices.
ReplyDeleteI think so too! Next up is Gregor's owner/employer, then it's five more troopers before I get to the beastmen or the eldar.
DeleteVery nice work Mr Rab - can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteIf I can keep the pace up you'll see them at Erny's on the 6th.
DeleteThat's a great looking mini, nice pose too.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the minis we initially put away for asthetic reasons, end up becoming some of our favourites years later......our tastes changing inline with our thinning hair line :)
Cheers.
And to think I nearly stole his arm for what would, looking back, have been an ill-advised conversion... He does have an enjoyably enthusiastic pose, definitely someone used to not getting hit.
DeleteI can't tell you how happy these character sketches make me. Brilliant work.
Delete(and I love this Alpha Forge miniature... I've never heard of them before, but Gregor is a great miniature.)
Thanks Matthew - wait until you meet the cigar smoking Marl brothers...
